SUMMARY:Nelshaby Hub & Nelshaby Ag Bureau West Coat Bus Tour
DESCRIPTION:\nThe Nelshaby Ag Bureau hub of UNFS has organised a two day trip to Eyre Peninsula next week (Monday, August 15 and Tuesday August 16) looking at a variety of relevant trial sites and other points of interest. We have a few spots left on the bus- first in best dressed.\n\n\nThe full program is still currently being drawn up by relevant contacts on EP through the South Australian Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub and AIR EP – Ag Innovation & Research Eyre Peninsula. So it is a bit tentative, but rest assured we will be visiting some interesting sites and farms. One highligh will be a visit to a Strip and Disc site at Buckleboo- apparently showing some very good results. Also visiting Minnipa Research Centre and the T-Ports site at Lucky Bay.\n\n\nRough program is as follows:\n\n\n Monday August 15 \n7.00am Depart Warnertown (Ray Tillers)\n10.30am Arrive Buckleboo. Visit SA Drought Hub Strip and Disc Trial site (including morning tea)\n11.30am Depart Buckleboo\n1.30pm Arrive Minnipa Research Centre (including Lunch)\nVisit relevant trials including innovative pasture species for low rainfall\n4.30pm Depart Minnipa\n5.00pm Arrive Wudinna\nOvernight Wudinna Hotel/Motel (Dinner , bed and breakfast)(Dinner with local farmers)\n\n\n Tuesday August 16 \n8.30am Depart Wudinna\n8.30am to 12.30pm Visit farms and trial sites between Wudinna and Lucky Bay (tba)\n12.30pm Lunch at Lucky Bay\n1.00pm T-Ports Lucky Bay\n3.00pm Travel to further site near Cowell- early seeding Drought Hub trial site?)\n5.00pm Depart Cowell\n6.00pm Arrive Whyalla for tea\n7.30pm Depart Whyalla\n9.30pm Arrive Warnertown\n\n\nThe trip is being heavily subsidised- we are grateful for the SA Drought Hub in meeting the bus cost and Upper North Farming Systems through their Tools, Technology and Transformation funding by FRRR in supporting the accommodation expenses.\n\n\nCost to individuals will be about $100, which includes all meals and accommodation.\n\n\nA great opportunity for some learnings away from the farm with some like-minded people. Spaces are limited so please contact Barry Mudge on 0417826790 or theoaks5@bigpond.com asap.\n\n\n
