Shaping up the sheep eID Workshop
Join Ag Tech at the Rodger’s shearing shed from 11am – 5pm on Friday 23rd August for a ½ day sheep workshop. The free event is for graziers and farmers to see and hear about sheep electronic identification requirements and how to use eID technology on farm. The program includes experts in their field. Anne Collins will share her knowledge on eID requirements and how to draft sheep based on particular traits; Datamars’ Northern SA manager Tristan Edwards will demonstrate the auto drafter; Adelaide University researchers will share information on the benefit of supplementing summer joined ewes and rams with melatonin and/or vitamin ADE to increase pregnancy rates on local trials in sheep and on ground; Upper North farming Systems’ Ruth Somerville will speak about the Beyond Goyder’s line seeding trial. To close the day, Tom Finlay will demonstrate predator trapping tools and techniques.
