Regenerating Goyder’s Line

Full Name: Regenerating Goyder’s Line – Re-establishing productive and profitable grasslands and scrublands in highly degraded, once cropped landscapes of Goyder’s Line.

Funding Body:  National Landcare Program’s Smart Farms Small Grant and Northern & Yorke Landscape Board Grassroots Grant

This project aims to determine and demonstrate best practice methods at three trail sites to:

  • Re-establish functional pastures & improve ecological function across the soil profile, water cycle & biological system.
  • Trial alternative seeding operations into paddocks protected by the Native Vegetation Legislation (Regulation 11(26)– (5 years undisturbed land- cultivation)
  • Share knowledge and lessons learnt with farmers through extension events and activities.

Three demonstration sites established: 2 near Quorn and 1 near Peterborough.
